γ WORLD INFOγ
Taraga exists in a world that looks and feels like our modern 21st century world. I tend to default him to that, however I am open to CR/situations in which the fantastic exists hidden alongside the mundane: characters with hidden powers, supernatural/mythological creatures, magic. I am also open to AUing him in settings where superheroes exist. I have a lot of flexibility as long as the setting bears at least a superficial resemblance to a post-1990s world.
γ BACKGROUND γ
Taraga is the son of a Korean businessman and an obscenely wealthy French woman. He spent his childhood equally between his parents' home countries. As a teen, he got involved with an older man who he later discovered was the head of a Korean crime syndicate. This exposed Taraga to a world he only knew from fiction. He was mostly insulated from it, but due to a few incidents, Taraga determined that violence would always and forever be a last resort for him. This man also encouraged his artistic leanings and funded his education.
Thanks to years spent in that underworld and his own ethics, Taraga opted to become an art thief. His goal is seldom money (he has no need of it coming from a wealthy family), but to repatriate works to their countries and cultures of origin. He learned a lot of his skills from his former flame's bodyguards. Now, at age 24, he's a talented painter (and art forger) and an internationally wanted art thief. Thankfully, the authorities don't know his identity, so he's still free to live a somewhat normal life.

γ FIRST IMPRESSIONS γ
Short by Western standards, Targa stands at 5'7", weighing in at 136 pounds. He likes to think his petite stature is useful in his career as an art thief. He stands out with heavy makeup and rocking a mullet in this day and age. He's much less flamboyant when he's stealing, opting for no color and simple attire. He's outgoing and will chat with just about anyone as long as the conversation's meaningful. He hates small talk.
γ PERSONALITY γ
Taraga is friendly, outgoing, talkative, and animated. Definitely an extrovert. Though he can come across as flighty, he's very loyal to the people he chooses to maintain close connections with. He's easily bored, which prompts a lot of travel. He's also a bit of a thrill-seeker (a significant part of why he chose to become an art thief). He's opinionated and open about it. Also, more than a little dramatic and sometimes sarcastic.
Despite all of that, Taraga is very grounded in his ethics. Violence is always the very last resort in his mind. His dislike of it borders on pacificism. However, he knows talking and doing things the "right" way (in the eyes of flawed laws made my flawed people) don't always work. Direct action is the best way to accomplish anything.
As an artist, he is easily moved by most forms of art: visual media, music, and the like. He's been known to get so lost in his painting that friends have come to check up on him after days of radio silence.

γ ABILITIES & WEAKNESSESγ
A skilled artist in his own right, he copies the Masters for fun and profit. This was a common learning exercise when Taraga was still an art student. It helped him hone his skills and fall into art forgery (paintings only). Outside of that, Taraga is observant and calculating. He has strong visual-spatial intelligence, aiding in puzzling out paths for his thefts.
Taraga can often get distracted from reality by art, music, and creating art of his own. He also falls for others very easily. It only takes a little earnest conversation and a willingness to be spontaneous to charm him. However, he often fails to commit. He also keeps his life as an art thief secret from almost everyone in his life. For their safety, as well as his.

Taraga is more a love 'em and leave 'em sort of guy. He's big on short-lived but passionate flings. However, I am open to navigating a longer-term romance with him as long as there's supporting CR. He defines himself as gay and attracted to men, but he's also open to trans masc partners.
